Saltie Soul – Sea Scrub Cucumber

cucumber back

I’m a recent convert to scrubs. I never used any sort of exfoliating product previously and just had a very basic skincare routine but after a demo at the Body Shop I fell in love with their salt scrub and quickly added it to my birthday/Christmas wish list. I don’t use it all the time but when I need a pick-me-up or just feel like a change I enjoy the feel of it on my skin and the feel of my skin afterwards. I understand and can see the benefits of using one and since this product is a lot cheaper than the Body Shop one I was happy to try it.

It has a cucumber scent which is subtle and not unpleasant but isn’t necessarily my favourite. It has although grown on me the more I use it and the faint hint of the sea in the background is always a winner for me.

It comes in a resealable bag which is very handy. The bag also takes up less room than a bottle or tub in your bathroom cupboard which is an added bonus.

You can see and feel the salt but it’s not harsh on your skin and is a lot gentler than some other exfoliating products I’ve tried. I noticed lots of beading after use which is a good sign; it appears to create a barrier to lock in the moisture and as a result my skin felt smooth afterwards with no need to apply a moisturiser which is usually a necessity with my very dry skin.

It’s not a huge bag but you don’t need a lot and a little went a long way and it’s reasonably priced compared with other brands. It felt good to use and my skin felt softer right away and for a long time afterwards my skin and those areas like my elbows that are normally alwasy rough felt smooth and soft too.

It claims to be all natural which is good as well as non–toxic and chemical free which is a huge plus if you have sensitive skin like me . It’s also Ocean friendly, Vegan Friendly and Animal Cruelty Free if these things are important to you.

They state that this sea scrub has been given a vitamin boost with the addition of cold-pressed cucumber seed oil, a powerful emollient rich in omega 6, vitamin B1 and vitamin C that is supposed to target skin hydration. The rich hydrating and nourishing natural ingredients are reported to be ideal for mature skin and unwanted skin conditions that are caused by dry and unbalanced skin such as psoriasis and eczema. it’s also the perfect scrub for troubled or dull skin, dry and dehydrated skin and clogged pores.

I loved this product straight away and both times I’ve used it so far (packets says you only need to use 2 -3 times a week). My skin felt very soft and did not need added moisturiser. My skin looks and feels great and there were no issues with skin reactions that I often get with my sensitive skin. I can highly recommend this product and am sure you’ll love it as much as I do.
