If you’re looking for somewhere that will keep everyone happy, then this is the café for you.
Set smack bang in the middle of Ryde, you are in for a real treat regardless of what you order. I was looking for somewhere that I could take my mum and grandmother for coffee, but also that was safe for my 2 year-old to run around and more importantly keep her entertained.
The coffee smelled and tasted absolutely delicious and the cake selection extensive, it was hard to decide on just one option. We settled on carrot cake, a lemon and orange blossom slice and a blueberry cheesecake that is by far the best I’ve ever tasted. It was so light and creamy – and also the first dish finished. Chatting to the owner we found out they are all made on site, not brought in by a different supplier and you can tell they take pride in their menu and particularly their service.
The rest of the menu is a Mediterranean-inspired delight. From bacon and eggs, to pancakes to the Kafta Tagine Eggs, you really are spoilt for choice. And that’s just the breakfast menu!
There is plenty of undercover seating and plenty of space to move around, so if you have prams or someone in a wheelchair, access is easy. And with a water fountain right beside the café wall you instantly feel calmed. I would happily take the family here every day of the week (except Tuesday’s when they are closed)!
Right outside is a playground suitable for all ages groups so depending on their age you can supervise while sipping your latte or pop in after a park run for a pick-me-up. There is a short bike circuit and basketball court if that’s your thing. The café is also located well inside the park so once inside you don’t need to worry too much about traffic – just a nice peaceful setting.
