In the past I’ve usually chosen my facial cleansers based purely on price. Whatever was on sale, so long as it didn’t smell putrid, was what made the cut. These days I’m a little pickier and have a bit more in the piggy bank that I can ensure I’m choosing what is actually right for my skin.
I’ve never had one skin type before, it’s always fluctuated through the different phases of my life and recently, because I’ve been having babies and breastfeeding, it’s been really quite dry and run down. I’ve tried a few different cleansers and while some have been ok, some have been outright disastrous!
This Neutrogena cleanser has been one of the best. You only need a small pump from the bottle in order to get a really lather up that you can scrub away with. I wasn’t overly fussed on the smell initially, but it wasn’t enough to put me off, purely because of how my skin felt afterwards. It felt raw – but in a good way. I felt like I was really able to get rid of all the grime and dirt and allow my pores to actually breathe. I almost didn’t want to moisturise afterwards it felt that clean.
I will also admit that when it comes to the cosmetic bottles that we fill our homes with, I don’t really like them being bright gaudy colours. This one is a nice frosted clear bottle that just blends into the background. But that’s probably me just being a little superficial. So far I’ve been using this twice a day and it’s lasting pretty well which is a great thing economically, so I’m pretty sure it’ll be a regular in my shower.
